  4. Thank you for choosing Globalink's Power Translator Deluxe
  5. for Windows.  We are proud of this product and are confident
  6. that it will help you to communicate in other languages.

  8. Please remember that while the software generally produces
  9. an understandable translation, it cannot create a perfect
  10. translation.  For translations that must be of publication
  11. quality always consult a professional translator or native
  12. speaker.

  14. INSTALLATION
  15. To install Power Translator Deluxe, run SETUP from the CD.
  16. Be sure to have your serial number ready.  You must enter
  17. the complete serial number starting with the letters PT,
  18. followed by a space, followed by the rest of the serial
  19. number.
  20.  
  21. DICTIONARY LOCATION
  22. The default dictionary location is the DICTS directory under
  23. your installation directory.  To change this location you
  24. can choose "Dictionary Locations" from the "Options" menu to
  25. specify a different location.

  27. Although you may specify the CD as the location of the
  28. dictionaries, this is not recommended due to the extreme
  29. slow speed of the CD drive and the fact that you cannot
  30. update your dictionaries since the CD is Read-Only.

  32. SPEECH SETUP
  33. The speech option will only work if you have a
  34. Windows-compatible sound card (such as "Sound Blaster")
  35. installed in your computer.
  36.  
  37. The speech setup is done on a per language basis.  For
  38. example, changing the speech parameters for English will not
  39. affect the speech of the other language.  You must first
  40. select the language for which you want to configure speech,
  41. then change the parameters.

  43. INSTALLATION DIFFICULTIES
  44. If you are experiencing problems with the installation
  45. program it is possible to install the product by using File
  46. Manager to drag the PTDELUXE directory from the CD onto your
  47. hard disk. You will then have to manually change the
  48. dictionary location to reflect your hard disk drive letter
  49. and turn off the Read-Only attribute of all the files you
  50. copied.

  52. Please note that you cannot run the product from the CD directly.
